Although I think it would be fair and actually kind of cool if a playoff system was instituted in college football, it is kind of ridiculous that now Congress is stepping into the picture. Congress and Obama have been putting more pressure on the BCS to develop a playoff system. First off (and most importantly), I am pretty sure they have other, more pressing issues to deal with in our country at this time! Secondly, these old congressmen and women probably next to squat about college football and the BCS. And thirdly, how much more government control are we going to take in this country??
Couldn't agree more with this comment. I'm all for the playoff, but Congressional oversight to make it happen? Are you freaking kidding me? Two major wars, a failing economy, a TRILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT and you want to get involved in college football?
We've seen the way you've handled Social Security, Medicaid, etc. Please, let football alone...
At the same time, better for them to be looking into this than raising taxes, nationalizing healthcare, passing laws that will only inhibit the economy more, spending money on stupid useless programs, or giving money away to countless millions of Americans more than capable of taking care of themselves.
